The National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office 1 (NEDA RO1) received on July 9, 2021 its ISO 9001:2015 recertification certificate from SOCOTEC Certification Philippines as a result of the virtual certification audit conducted on April 8, 2021. The auditors earlier assessed the ISO conformance of the revised Quality Management System (QMS) of the office, which includes procedures in response to the challenges due to the pandemic and adaption to emerging development trends.
The recertification of the QMS helps ensure strong customer focus, motivation and support of top management, implementation of the process approach, and continual improvement. The certification is timely since NEDA RO1 revised its procedures to adapt to the limitations and opportunities brought by the pandemic. Likewise, the office is in the process of implementing improvements in its organizational structure in response to the requirements of various national and sub-national policy and development trends.
The recertified NEDA RO1 QMS covers three core procedures on Development Planning, Investment Programming and Budgeting, and Monitoring and Evaluation. Also included in the scope of the certification are eight support procedures covering Information and Communications Technology (ICT), data and statistics, and finance and administrative procedures.
Consistent with the final remarks of Regional Director Nestor G. Rillon during the external audit, the recertification of the NEDA RO1 QMS strengthens the commitment of the office to continue with the delivery of quality outputs and services to stakeholders.
The original date of certification of the QMS of NEDA RO1 under the ISO 9001:2015 standard was on March 04, 2018. The current certification of the QMS is valid until March 3, 2024.
