The National Economic and Development Authority – Regional Office 1 (NEDA RO1) successfully passed its ISO 9001:2015 virtual Surveillance Audit on April 6, 2022. As a result, SOCOTEC Certification Philippines maintains the certification of the Quality Management System (QMS) of NEDA RO1 with scope covering Development Planning, Investment Programming and Budgeting, and Monitoring and Evaluation.

Mr. Michael Matundan, Mr. Kim Winston Pajares and Ms. Laarni Narido (first 3, top row) of SOCOTEC audit the Top Management represented by RD Nestor G. Rillon (right most, top row), ARD Irenea B. Ubungen (left most, 2nd row), and the division chiefs and other process owners of NEDA RO1 .

During the audit, NEDA RO1 was able to effectively demonstrate conformance to applicable and relevant requirements of the standard across all audit areas based on records of actual practices, objectives and targets, risk management, and operational controls with monitoring tools. The auditors also noted improvements in most areas, and that resources including human resource, materials, budget and infrastructure were proven to be enough to support the operations of the office. These resulted to the continual improvement of the processes of NEDA RO1 as evidenced by the improving level of satisfaction of internal and external customers. The auditors also found no non-conformities in the implementation of the NEDA RO1 QMS. This is despite the various challenges brought about by pandemic and work restrictions, and plantilla position vacancies in 2021.

In his closing message, the Regional Director of the NEDA RO1, Nestor G. Rillon expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the NEDA RO1 staff for sustaining the organization’s adherence to the standard.  He also pointed out that NEDA RO1 will continue to work better as an organization in the delivery of services to stakeholders while ensuring the welfare and development of its staff.
