The Regional Development Council 1 (RDC-1) conducted four batches of Secretariat’s Orientation for the primary secretariats of the sectoral, support, and sub-committees of RDC-1 on September 7, 9, 14, and 16, 2021 via Zoom. The orientation was attended by 80 personnel from 23 regional line agencies and 1 state university who provide secretariat services to the RDC-1 committees.
The Secretariat’s Orientation aimed to apprise the secretariats on their roles and responsibilities as secretariats in managing meetings and other activities of the committees. The following were discussed during the one-day orientation: (1) Overview of RDC-1; (2) Concept of Completed Staff Work; (3) Guidelines on Management of Meetings and Protocols on the Conduct of Virtual Meetings; (4) Manual of Styles and Social Media Posts; (5) Amendments on RDC-1 Manual of Operations; (6) Policy Process in the Context of RDC-1; and (7) Review and Monitoring of RDC-1 Resolutions.
After the presentations, the attendees were grouped for a workshop on the preparation and accomplishment of the Resolution Monitoring Plan (RMP). Monitoring the resolutions passed by their respective committees will be one of the tasks of the secretariats in 2022.
The Secretariat’s Orientation is part of the continuous capacity development activities of the RDC-1 to bring out the full potentials of its secretariats in carrying out their important roles in the RDC-1. The staff of the RDC Unit of the NEDA Regional Office 1 served as resource persons and facilitators during the activity.
